General Rules & Safety Requirements
General Rules:
- All Vehicles must be 4-wheel drive
- Maximum of two different drivers per
vehicles per class. One payback per vehicle.
- Any vehicle that bumps up a class and
changes anything you must meet that class inspection.
- For Street Stock, Pro A, & Pro B, the
driver and engine must be in stock location.
- The driver who is to making the run must
stage each vehicle.
- Do not try to back out of a track, let
the tractor pull you out.
- Once your vehicle stops and/or the
flagman signals, your run is complete. Stop spinning your wheels immediately
and shift vehicle into neutral. Show this by waving to the flagman.
- Driver may not get out of drivers seat
while in the track, unless hookup fails, or for safety reasons. Driver may
have one pit person in competition area.
- Once your vehicle enters the track,
backing up is permitted for staging only; your back tires cannot go past
staging lights. All vehicles must stop at flagman.
- In the event of two or more vehicles
tying, the tie will be broken by a second times run. This is for place winners
only.
- If a pullback cable is used, each vehicle
must drag the cable into the track. If the cable comes unattached during the
run, you will make the run again immediately. The hosting club will decide on
the use of a cable.
- Vehicle must stop within marked shutdown
area or be disqualified.
- Have your vehicle ready when your number
is called. If after 2 minutes from your first call your vehicle is not on the
line you will be disqualified. When stage and green flag is given, if vehicle
dies, competitor receives a red flag and is put on a 2-minute clock. A vehicle
with 2 drivers running back to back will receive an additional minute to
report to the line.
- Track boundaries will be marked by
markers (with a rope option) along side of the track. If your vehicle hits the
marker or the rope you will be disqualified. The host club will decide on the
use of markers.
- If place winners are suspected of running
NITROUS OXIDE when not allowed in the class, they will be subject to
carburetor removal and re-inspection by tech. If found they will be
disqualified, if running points they will be removed up to that date.
- The place winning vehicles from Street
Stock cannot run in Factory Stock Class, this class is a host club option.
- If tech puts someone in a class that
doesn’t quite fit that class, and has to be bumped up to another class, then
they only take a minimum points. 2 per race, 1 for registration, and 1 for
pulling to the line, unless they are running points in the bump up class.
- These are guidelines, tech decision is
final….
The Host club has the right to disqualify
anyone for unsafe condition of driver and/or vehicle. Judges decision is final.
Protest are to be filed with the 2 people appointed at the drivers meeting
within 10 minutes of completion of the class. A cost of $250 is required for
your protest and is not refundable. These rules were set up to insure a safe
event to enable us to provide more races in the future, your cooperation is
appreciated. Any violation of these rules will result in disqualification!!!!!
Safety Rules:
- Seat belts are required in all classes
and must be secured to vehicle floor or frame.
- You must have a fully charged UL approved
fire extinguisher with working gauge (2lbs/min.) secured to the vehicle,
within drivers reach.
- Vehicle must have rigid hitch on rear of
frame, in center of vehicle and provide your own clevis.
- Use of eye protection, helmet and
seatbelt or harness are mandatory for run in and out of track.
- All vehicles must have 4-wheel operable
brakes (2 wheel, 1 pinion brake is acceptable.) Brakes must be shielded
modified class vehicle must have at least 3 braking points. Dual receiver
master cylinders are required on all vehicles.
- All exhaust on vehicles must either point
straight up or down or out the rear of the vehicle. Any exhaust out the side
of a vehicle must be street legal exhaust system.
- Vehicle with automatic transmissions must
have working neutral safety switch.
- No passengers permitted during run.
- All loose articles must be removed from
vehicle before staging.
- Every open top or soft-top vehicle must
have rear section 4-point roll cage mounted or secured to frame. Roll bar must
be 1 ˝” diameter, 1/8” wall steel tubing or chrome moly tubing. All vehicles
are recommended to have driver protection from the rear. Modifieds must have a
frame mounted 4-point roll cage.
- All drivers must wear closed-toe shoes.
- Vehicles with blowers must use SFI
approved straps that are valid for 5 years from date stamped on straps.
- All vehicles must have full firewalls and
floorboards.
- Vehicle battery must be secured and if
mounted inside the vehicle must be completely covered and secured to the
vehicle. No ropes or bungee cord allowed.
- Vehicle must have lug nuts on all studs
with a minimum of 4 per wheel.
- All vehicles must run rubber tires. Tire
chains, studded tires or recapped tires are not permitted.
- A minimum 4-point harness is required in
modified classes and must be secured to floor or frame.
- Vehicle with chain drives must be
shielded.
- All vehicles with open engine
compartments, running mechanical fans must have a shroud enclosing blades.
- All vehicles with exposed transmissions
must have a scatter shield or blow proof bell housing.
- All modified vehicles must have
driveshaft loops, every 24” on the driveshaft 1/8”x 1 1/4”aluminum. This is
also recommended for Pro Stock.
- Fuel lines must be run under the
sub-floor of the vehicle and not exposed to the driver.
- Anyone running pressurized fuels
(alcohol, nitrous, etc.) or vehicle other than pro stock must have labeled
KILL switch and provisions to shut down engine immediately all within drivers
reach while strapped in seat. When running Modified Classes and Nitrous Oxide
not being used the bottle must be removed and line tapped or plugged. If using
two bottles you must have shut off valves.
- If running alcohol and/or Nitrous you
must wear a fire suit 100 % cotton or fire retarded for all classes.
- Pit person must stand behind timekeeper
in marked area.
- Consumption of alcohol by a driver prior
to competing in event will result in disqualification.
- If the floorboard or structure has been
altered. A minimum 4-point roll cage must be present within drivers
compartment and must be secured to the frame. The floor must be replaced with
OEM thickness steel.
